Welcome to Creative Hastings - promoting the arts in the beautiful district of Hastings right in the heart of Hawke's Bay.

We invite you to visit the exhibitions in the Hastings Community Arts Centre, located in an absolute gem of a Spanish Mission building in the centre of Hastings City. The arts centre showcases the talent of Hawke's Bay with exhibitions changing every two weeks. Go to the exhibitions link on the left to see our calendar of coming shows.

The Moonlighters at the Art Centre

The delightful Auckland duo Peter Town-Treweek on violin and Margaret McIver on vocals, headline an evening of great music at the Hastings Community Arts Centre.

Great covers of Van Morrison, Norah Jones, Carole King etc, fabulous jazz, swing and Latin. Supported by Scotty Smith and Richard Nicholson from local band Kawekas.

Cilla McQueen and Friends

New Zealand Poet Laureate, Cilla McQueen, will be reading her poetry at the Assembly Room, Hawke's Bay Opera House, Hastings on Saturday, March 20 starting at 8pm. She will be joined by the first New Zealand Poet Laureate, Michele Leggott, Auckland poet, Bob Orr and Australian-based writer, Martin Edmond.

Cilla is a superb reader of her works. This is a rare opportuniy to see the Bluff-based writer reading in Hawke's Bay.

Te Mata Estate will be running a bar selling their very fine wine. Adults $20, Senior Citizen $18 and students $15.

Wet Weather Venue If wet, all concerts will be moved to the Hawke’s Bay Opera House Plaza, Hastings. The concert on March 7 will be held at the Opera House regardless of weather.
