Our exhibitions are shown in the Hastings Community Arts Centre in a glorious Spanish Mission building at 106 Russell Street South.
The restoration of this building won a Supreme Art Deco Award in 2004.

Artists’ Challenge - Cats,
Copper and Car Parts
The famous annual challenge in
which local artists rise to the lure of themes. This year it’s the moggies, the
sheen of copper and the endless possibilities of car parts. What will they come up with
this time - will it drive to Bluff or curl up on the bed?
Come and see what results from
the intersection of these and the talents of the artists. Always an interesting
show.

of printing techniques by some of our leading printmakers.

Hawke’s Bay Woolcrafts
An exhibition and cash and
carry sale. Weaving, knitting, felting, fibre art, clothing, wall hangings,
homespun, floor rugs. Artist are on site throughout the show.
Napier Arts Club
Members of this strong group each
present a personal choice of up to three works.

Matariki Exhibition
Manu Dunn will be running a
purerehua (bullroarers) workshop - also live performances and kites. Maori kites, hinaki,
contemporary korowai, a large albatross figure, arts and crafts will provide
lots of interest. Live kapa Haka performances included.
